What you do
To strengthen our Supply Chain department, we are looking for a Senior Transport Specialist with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. The primary focus of this role is transport expertise across air, sea, and road freight. In addition, you have a basic understanding of customs regulations and procedures.
You combine operational experience with a strong analytical and commercial mindset and play an active role in managing and optimizing transport costs, transport modalities, and supplier relationships within the Apparel division.
1. End-to-end management and optimization of transport flows (air, sea, and road) within a national and international production environment.
2. Selecting the most suitable transport modes based on cost, lead time, risk, and service level.
3. Actively negotiating with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners regarding rates, contract terms, and transport conditions.
4. Reviewing and validating invoices from all logistics partners.
5. Analyzing transport costs and performance, and proposing concrete optimization initiatives.
6. Identifying customs-related risks and supporting accurate documentation and compliance processes.
7. Collaborating closely with logistics, operations, procurement, and finance teams.
8. Monitoring market developments related to transport rates, capacity, and regulations.
Who you are
9. You have obtained a degree at master's level.
10. You have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience as a Transport Specialist, preferably within an industrial environment.
11. You possess strong expertise in air, sea, and road transport and feel comfortable working in an international setting.
12. You have a basic understanding of customs procedures and regulations.
13. You are an experienced negotiator with proven experience in supplier and contract management.
14. You have strong analytical skills and are able to translate data into well-founded decisions.
15. You work in a structured, proactive, and autonomous manner, with attention to both detail and impact.
16. You easily navigate complex organizational structures and collaborate effectively across different departments.
17. You have a hands-on mentality: you are a practical, action-oriented person.
18. You communicate fluently in Dutch and English. A good knowledge of French is considered a plus.
