Within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) assignment, the Construction Manager acts as the client's on-site representative for the construction of Data Center (DC) projects. The role is responsible for overseeing all construction activities to ensure that works are executed safely, in compliance with contractual requirements, technical specifications, quality standards, and Data Center best practices.
The Construction Manager coordinates contractors, monitors progress and quality, manages interfaces between CSA and MEP works, and supports the client in achieving schedule, cost, and performance objectives.

Your key responsibilities
Construction Oversight & Client Representation
Represent the client on site toward contractors and subcontractors
Monitor construction works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and DC standards
Ensure contractors execute works in accordance with approved method statements and schedules
Site Coordination & Interface Management
Coordinate construction activities across multiple work packages (CSA, MEP, utilities)
Manage interfaces between civil, structural, architectural, and MEP works
Ensure effective sequencing and phasing of works in fast-track DC environments
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Enforce HSE rules, client policies, and legal requirements on site
Participate in site safety meetings, inspections, and audits
Intervene and stop unsafe works when necessary
Quality Control & Compliance
Monitor quality inspections, tests, and site acceptance activities
Ensure compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
Support punch list management, snagging, and corrective actions
Schedule & Progress Monitoring
Monitor construction progress against the approved schedule
Identify delays, risks, and deviations and report to the PMC Project Manager
Support recovery planning and mitigation actions
Data Center–Specific Responsibilities
Oversee construction of DC-specific infrastructure, including:
Structural works and architectural envelope
Raised floors and white space preparation
Coordination of CSA works with critical MEP installations
Ensure compliance with DC requirements related to availability, redundancy, and constructability
Commissioning & Handover Support
Support readiness for commissioning, testing, and energization
Coordinate site completion activities and handover preparation
Ensure as-built documentation and site records are completed
Reporting & Communication
Prepare site progress reports and construction status updates
Participate in coordination meetings with the client and PMC team
Escalate issues requiring client or management decisions
Who you are
Education
Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
Experience
Proven experience as a Construction Manager in a PMC / Owner's Engineer role
Strong experience in Data Center projects is a plus
Experience in fast-track, multidisciplinary projects
Skills & Competencies
English proficiency is mandatory
Strong knowledge of DC construction methods and standards
Excellent site coordination and interface management skills
Strong understanding of HSE and quality management
Ability to manage multiple contractors in high-pressure environments
Strong communication and reporting skills
