We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Junior Associate to reinforce our Global Loans team.
This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of international finance, where you will contribute to complex transactions and develop your legal expertise in a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.
Our first class Global Loans team specialises in advising our clients on all aspects of Belgian and cross-border complex financing transactions across:
Leveraged and acquisition finance;
1. Fund finance;
2. Real estate finance;
3. Infrastructure finance;
4. Structured finance;
5. Asset finance;
6. Securitisation;
7. Debt capital markets; and
8. Debt restructuring.
Our team additionally brings:
9. A growing financial regulatory practice;
10. Particular expertise in offerings of innovative financial products and structured products;
11. A market-leading practice for Euroclear and ISDA, GMSLA and GMRA related matters.
As a Junior Associate in our team, you will work on a wide range of financing mandates from day one, collaborating closely with colleagues across our international network, clients, counterparties and other advisers. You will take ownership of workstreams and manage assigned projects to completion with appropriate supervision and support.
Essential skills and experience
Experience and qualifications
12. You successfully passed a Master's degree in law in a Belgian university, ideally completed by an LL.M degree (general or focused on banking and finance);
13. A specialized Master's degree or a business management degree (HEC Liège, Solvay, Louvain Business school, KUL Business school, AMS, etc.) would be an asset;
14. Up to 2 years of experience in transactional banking and finance within a global law firm or a large local law firm;
15. You are registered or eligible to be registered with the Brussels Bar.
Skills
16. Fluency in English and proficiency in French. Proficiency in Dutch will be considered an asset.
17. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
18. Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills;
19. The ability to be team-focused and to also work independently;
20. A proactive, positive and energetic approach with a commitment to providing excellent service.
