Thales Begium (Herstal) is a world leader in precision guided rocket systems for helicopters and jet aircraft. To meet its production roadmap, we are expanding our team and seek an Engineering Delivery Manager.
Responsibilities
* Lead engineering delivery to achieve project on‑time and on‑budget delivery
* Plan, coordinate and deliver engineering projects involving hardware, software and system integration components
* Build a goal‑driven engineering team and create an efficient engineering chain for R&T/R&D activities
* Manage cross‑functional engineering teams, including systems engineers, software developers and test engineers
* Develop project management skills and processes to elevate project execution
* Identify, assess and mitigate technical risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle
* Define and track project schedules, milestones and deliverables aligned with contractual commitments
* Organize and facilitate collaborative work across internal resources, local subcontractors, foreign strategic partners and final customers in Belgium or abroad
* Collaborate with program managers, people managers, quality assurance and supply chain to ensure compliance with defense industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AQAP)
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize delivery processes, including Agile or V‑model methodologies adapted to defense projects
* Ensure clear communication and reporting with internal stakeholders and external customers, including progress, challenges and technical solutions
* Manage based on Program Engineering KPIs
* Support regulatory and certification activities related to product safety, reliability and performance
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Engineering
* Minimum 5 years of Project Management or technical leadership experience within a high‑tech engineering company (aerospace, defense, automotive, embedded systems, or other high‑reliability industry)
* Strong knowledge of systems engineering, product development lifecycles and integration/testing processes
* Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on complex technical projects
* Results‑oriented, cost‑conscious and proactive
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a highly regulated environment
* Excellent project management skills: scope, stakeholder, resource and risk management
* Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence)
* Fluent in French and English; knowledge of German or Dutch is a plus
* Familiarity with defense industry standards, quality frameworks and certification processes (DO‑178, ARP‑4754, ISO 26262)
