We’re currently supporting a major enterprise client in Brussels looking to bring on an experienced Senior Databricks Engineer for a long-term programme focused on modernising their cloud data platform.
This is a hands-on engineering role working closely with data architects, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to build scalable Databricks-based solutions across large, high-volume datasets.
The environment is heavily cloud-focused with strong adoption of Databricks, Spark, and modern lakehouse principles.
What they’re looking for:
* Strong commercial experience with Databricks in production environments
* Excellent knowledge of PySpark and Spark SQL
* Experience building Delta Lake / medallion architectures
* Strong ETL / ELT pipeline development background
* Experience with streaming pipelines and large-scale data processing
* Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
* Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow
* Comfortable working in enterprise-scale environments with multiple stakeholders
Nice to have:
* Snowflake experience
* Terraform / CI/CD exposure
* Kafka or Spark Structured Streaming
* Experience optimising Databricks clusters and performance tuning
Contract details:
* Freelance / B2B contract
* Long-term engagement
* Hybrid working model in Brussels
* Rate up to €1100 per day depending on experience
