Apheon’s current portfolio consists of 23 companies across its target sectors, representing ~€3.5 billion sales and more than 20,000 employees. As a result of the increase in its activities and the developments in its Operations, Apheon is recruiting a Financial Controller to join our Finance Team at the Brussels office. The position reports directly to the CFO and the Head of Control & Finance of Apheon. Job Description The Financial Controller plays a critical role in managing financial operations, overseeing the consolidation of the Apheon Group, and providing strategic financial guidance. This position requires a professional with an initial relevant experience in financial reporting, analysis, and consolidation. Working closely together with the Apheon Finance Team, the Financial Controller will help ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and reliable financial information, contributing to sound decision-making and the overall success of Apheon. More specifically, the key responsibilities of the function include: Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for the Apheon Group and its local subsidiaries. Implement and maintain robust financial controls, processes, and reporting systems. Provide meaningful insights into financial performance, trends, and key metrics to support strategic decision-making. Consolidation of the Apheon Group: Support and coordinate the consolidation process for the Apheon Group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Work closely with local accountants of the subsidiaries to streamline reporting processes and improve efficiency. Conduct periodic reviews to identify potential financial risks and opportunities. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the Finance Team to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budget, providing variance analysis and recommendations for improvement. Contribute to long-term financial planning and scenario analysis. Support to the Apheon Group: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements. Coordinated with external auditors and support the audit process. Assist in maintaining close relationships with banks, lawyers, tax advisers and internal & external accountants. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the Finance Team. Education and Experience The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in finance and has minimum 4 years of solid professional experience, supported by a strong technical background in accounting, reporting, and consolidation. Prior experience in investment companies, holdings structures, advisory firms or private equity environments is considered a strong asset. Alternatively, experience gained in a top-tier audit firms, combined with exposure to investment company environments, would also be highly relevant. Excellent command of English and French is required. Knowledge of an additional language is a plus. Proficient computer skills and advanced knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel and Powerpoint. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and work efficiently in a demanding environment.
