Job Description
As a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), your responsibilities are:
Cybersecurity governance:
Serve as temporary Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
Clarify cybersecurity roles/responsibilities
Formalize necessary policies (ISO 27001, NIS2, GDPR)
NIS2 compliance:
Conduct an assessment and maturity evaluation
Develop a prioritized action plan
Coordinate internal stakeholders and suppliers
Risk management:
Map IT and OT risks
Update the institutional risk analysis
Provide security expertise to ongoing projects
Operational security management:
Monitor security audits
Manage critical incidents
Recommend or initiate a detection system (SOC, MSSP)
Compliance and awareness:
Work closely with the DPO
Support IT and business teams
Produce reports required by management and authorities
Reporting:
Build an NIS2 dashboard
Formalize compliance documents
Ensure traceability and proof of implementation
The Successful Applicant A successful Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) should have:
Education & Certifications : Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related discipline. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor) are strongly valued.
Experience : At least 10 years of progressive experience in information security, including proven success in senior leadership or interim CISO roles. Demonstrated expertise in building and governing security frameworks in line with ISO 27001, NIS2, and GDPR.
Governance & Compliance Expertise : Deep understanding of regulatory requirements (NIS2, GDPR) and ability to formalize policies, clarify roles, and ensure compliance across IT and OT environments.
Risk Management Skills : Strong background in identifying, mapping, and assessing IT and OT risks, with experience integrating security risks into institutional risk management frameworks.
Operational Security Leadership : Hands-on experience in managing security audits, incident response, and operational security monitoring (SOC/MSSP). Proven ability to recommend and implement detection and monitoring systems.
Stakeholder Engagement : Skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams, suppliers, and business units to align cybersecurity objectives with organizational priorities. Comfortable collaborating with DPOs, IT teams, and senior management.
Analytical & Reporting Competence : Ability to develop dashboards, compliance documentation, and structured reporting to management and authorities, ensuring accountability and traceability.
Soft Skills : Strong leadership presence, excellent communication, and the ability to translate complex security issues into clear business terms. Adept at driving awareness, building trust, and fostering a security-first culture.
Adaptability & Strategic Vision : Capable of acting effectively in temporary or transitional leadership roles while developing long-term cybersecurity maturity and resilience.
