About the Role
As an Electric Support Engineer within Daikin Europe’s R&D organisation, you will play a key role in supporting the design, analysis, validation, and continuous improvement of our electronic systems. You will work closely within our Equipment Control team to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of PCBAs used across Daikin’s advanced HVAC solutions.
This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in electronics, PCBA design, EMC, and diagnostics, who enjoys analytical problem‑solving and collaborating in a dynamic, international environment.
Responsibilities
* Support the design, review, and validation of PCBA hardware containing analogue, digital, and power circuits, while also taking EMC, thermal behaviour and reliability aspects into consideration.
* Analyse system‑level issues across multiple PCBAs and devices, identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions.
* Perform EMC‑related evaluations (radiated & conducted emission, immunity, ESD) and propose countermeasures.
* Interpret and apply EN/IEC standards and internal Daikin guidelines.
* Create clear technical documentation, test reports, and analysis summaries.
* Read and interpret electronic schematics and technical documentation.
* Use diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and measurement equipment.
* Support simulation activities (e.g., LTSpice, MicroCap).
* Perform or assist with soldering tasks, including SMD components.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Electric & Controls team.
Profile
Education
* Master’s degree in industrial engineering Electronics‑ICT or equivalent experience.
Technical Skills
* Strong knowledge of PCBA design, analogue, digital and power electronics, EMC, thermal behaviour, transmission lines, and reliability calculations.
* Understanding of EMC principles (emission, immunity, ESD).
* Ability to work with international standards (EN/IEC).
* Strong analytical mindset and troubleshooting skills.
* Familiarity with measurement techniques and common lab equipment.
* Basic experience with simulation tools (LTSpice, MicroCap…).
* Safety awareness regarding ESD and working with live circuits.
* Good soldering skills (THT and SMD components).
Experience
* Preferably 4+ years of experience in an electronics design or hardware engineering role.
