Job Description
As a dispatcher you will assist with the physical coordination required to execute dispatches of loads destined to our small regas stations' customers. This includes all required interactions with all relevant stakeholders to guarantee the execution of the planned deliveries.
Responsibilities
Dispatch drivers, trucks, and other service transport equipment to appropriate regas locations according to sites replenishment demand.
Liaise with terminal control room operators, maintenance technicians and regas stations personnel to ensure continuity of loadings at the terminal meet dispatch plan on time.
Dispatchers are also responsible for assigning trips to drivers and to handle the required DOT documents for the delivery. Monitoring errors or violations on daily logs and monitoring drivers' daily hours of service to not exceed regulations as well as equipment availability to perform the delivery.
Follow-up with terminal operations and maintenance group to ensure delivery tanks are available to be reloaded on time and for dispatch.
Relay necessary instructions, messages and information to/from driver's, operations crews, supervisors and maintenance technicians using telephones, two-way radios, emails or other approved messaging applications to achieve successful execution of deliveries.
Record and maintain files and records of delivery schedules, bills-of-lading, accidents or incidents, equipment availability, drivers offloading performances and other dispatch information.
Perform updates in routing software to document any changes in the delivery operation.
Advise drivers about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards that may have bearing on quality and timeliness of deliveries.
Qualifications
At least a high school diploma but an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
One to three years' experience as a Dispatcher. A related experience in customer service or courier services will serve in lieu of dispatcher experience.
You should be proficient with Microsoft office skills.
Dispatchers are expected to be "on" from punch in to punch out. For this reason, a dispatcher must also be highly organized and be able to handle a high amount of stress.
