The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Factory - Cloud Engineer Manager - Assistant Director with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions. As a key member of the Digital Factory, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our cloud strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory compliance, and driving innovation through Azure technologies. This role is critical to the migration of regulated fund applications to a dedicated Azure environment, operating under strict CSSF/PSF compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Strategy
* Design and implement cloud architecture solutions on Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
* Lead cloud migration initiatives, including assessment, planning, and execution.
* Develop scalable, cost-efficient Azure infrastructure for regulated fund applications.
* Create architecture that enables future connectivity to non-regulated environments when approved.
* Optimize cloud costs and performance through monitoring, automation, and governance.
* Implement and maintain a FinOps approach aligned with market standards to ensure cost transparency, optimization, and financial accountability across cloud environments.
Security, Compliance & Audit Readiness
* Ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements (CSSF/PSF), and industry standards.
* Implement and maintain multi-factor authentication and security controls.
* Maintain infrastructure in audit-ready state at all times.
* Prepare documentation and evidence for regulatory inspections.
* Implement logging and monitoring solutions for regulatory reporting.
Infrastructure as Code & DevOps
* Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
* Collaborate with global EY DevOps teams to define cloud standards and CI/CD best practices.
* Ensure all changes follow change management processes required by regulators.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
* Collaborate with global EY teams, business stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
* Provide regular progress updates and risk assessments.
* Escalate blockers and delays with global EY teams when necessary.
* Maintain clear communication channels across multiple time zones and cultural contexts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
* Proven experience with Azure services such as Virtual Machines, App Services, AKS, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure SQL.
* Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in Azure.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
* Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
* Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert are highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-premises integration.
* Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Knowledge of other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
