Our client is a holding company looking for a Finance Business Partner.
In this role you will act as the Finance Manager's key partner on all financial matters. You oversee accounting operations and ensure accurate, reliable financial reporting across multiple business units and entities in Belgium and abroad.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting (including Tax/VAT)
* Ensure timely and accurate execution of general accounting activities (balance sheet, P&L, CAPEX, financial assets, impairment testing, etc.).
* Manage and review quarterly financial information and annual statutory accounts.
* Advise Business Units on accounting policies and practices.
* Review financial and tax reports for compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
* Validate tax and VAT filings and coordinate with external tax advisors.
2. Financial Reporting
* Coordinate the preparation of financial reports (budgets, reforecasts, portfolio reporting, etc.) with Business Units and the finance team.
* Ensure accuracy and consistency in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
3. Additional Responsibilities
* Mentor and support (senior) accountants; contribute to training and development.
* Serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
* Lead process improvement and automation initiatives.
* Support and optimize financial systems and workflows.
Profile & Qualifications
* Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
* Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
* Strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines.
* Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
* Excellent communication skills in French and English.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Solid knowledge of Belgian GAAP; IFRS is an asset.
* Good understanding of Belgian corporate income tax and VAT.
