We are currently partnering with a
leading international consultancy
to appoint an experienced
Lead Quantity Surveyor / Cost Management Lead
to join a high-performing team delivering complex, large-scale construction projects across
data centers
.
This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to work in a
client-facing, strategic position
, with real influence over project outcomes, team development, and business growth.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will take ownership of key client accounts and play a central role in shaping cost strategies across major developments. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, lead multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to both project delivery and wider business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the
primary commercial and cost advisor
to key clients, building long-term, trusted relationships.
* Lead cost planning, estimating, and commercial strategy across large, complex construction projects.
* Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, often across different regions and time zones.
* Provide leadership to sizeable cost management teams, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
* Drive the preparation of
cost plans, BoQs, QTOs
, and associated commercial documentation.
* Establish and implement
QA/QC procedures
to maintain high standards of cost reporting and governance.
* Support business development activities, including client engagement, proposals, and bid submissions.
* Collaborate with internal sales and marketing teams to support growth and repeat business.
* Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical excellence and career progression.
Technical & Professional Requirements
* Extensive experience in
cost management and pre-construction
, ideally within a
consultancy environment
.
* Strong background delivering
large-scale construction projects
, with exposure to
data centers
highly desirable.
* Advanced proficiency in
CostX
(or equivalent tools such as PlanSwift, Cubicost, Candy, or similar).
* Solid understanding of
MEP cost management
, with working knowledge of MEPF packages.
* Experience contributing to or overseeing procurement strategies on international projects.
* Proven ability to lead teams, manage senior stakeholders, and operate at a strategic level.
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or a related discipline.
* Chartered status (or actively working toward chartership) is preferred.
* Strong commercial awareness and an interest in supporting business growth initiatives.
