The Operations Director EMEA is responsible for strategic development and daily operations of the Mercury Marine & Lankhorst Taselaar Distribution Centers network in EMEA. Accountable for operational efficiencies and effectiveness, financial performance, continuous improvements delivery, staff engagement and development, as well as developing the best-in-class industry technologies, tools and capabilities required to satisfy customers and suppliers needs. The Operations Director has the operational leadership of EMEA Operations including Distribution Centers, Facilities and Maintenance management (warehouses, buildings and offices), HSE (within DCs environment), Quality/ISO management and drives an enhanced customer experience through the Customer Support functions integration. Leads and reports to the SMT the short-, medium- and longer-term evolution of the EMEA DCs and Facilities optimisation strategy, transformational plans to drive improved asset and capacity utilisation, and enhanced operational efficiencies, to deliver a more consistent customer experience at a lower cost to serve.
Accountabilities

Projects and Strategy
* Elaborates and manages the strategy and direction of the Mercury EMEA Distribution Operations (including HSEQ), ensuring necessary process improvements and upscaling in line with business growth.
* Drives the strategic planning and direction of Mercury EMEA Facilities Management (including warehouses, buildings and offices), ensuring infrastructure requirements, general compliance, capacity and budget align with business growth.
* Leads the EMEA Operations and Facilities Management Teams, with dotted lines to HSE, to ensure the business strategy is translated into tactical plans and initiatives.
* Develops and leads, with SMT, the property management strategy and supporting plan for EMEA to drive cost savings/avoidance and optimize asset utilization and value.
* Develops strategy and plans, with SMT, to design the best customer service/support organization for the future (customer-centric operational vision).
* Works with EMEA distribution business leaders to improve DCs network design (including future M&A), sets operational and service standards, and aligns on industry-leading logistics solutions, leveraging CAPEX synergies.
* Involves in M&A and integration; leads synergy activities for all DCs and standardizes logistics integration in the shared services model.
* Responsible for Quality standards in Distribution Operations, supports management and operational excellence in implementing the Quality Management System and ISO program within EMEA.
* Responsible for DCs, Operations, Facilities and Quality CAPEX and OPEX.
* Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with sales, account management and program management on local and global scale.
* Engages with internal and company customers to ensure performance is achieved and improved while driving customer confidence in the operations.
* Leads key strategic programs for the Mercury EMEA organization in line with the strategy with the SMT.
* Acts as EMEA SME for Distribution Centre operations and processes to ensure ERP and WMS support and enable DC and company strategy.
Health & Safety & Ethics
* Ensures a safe workplace for all at all times, driving towards zero incidents.
* Ensures risk assessments are conducted by teams for all routine activities; SOPs aligned with risk assessments are in place and refreshed regularly.
* Supports timely and effective resolution/report closure of HSE and quality incidents/non-conformances.
* Promotes and drives the ethics and HSE programs, ensuring employees understand and adhere to the ethics code & HSE procedures and driving ethical behavior daily in cooperation with HSE Advisors.
* Acts as President and represents the Senior Staff during monthly Health and Safety councils.
Operations Activities
* Leads and empowers Mercury and Lankhorst Operations, Facilities, Inventory Control, CI and Quality management teams to continuously improve efficiencies and effectiveness.
* Oversees EMEA Distribution Operations, Facilities and Quality management by coordinating and enforcing programs via continuous improvement, and policy adherence.
* Attains and improves Operations/Distribution performance, Quality standards and Service METRICS with the management team.
* Leads and develops the EMEA Operations Reporting and Analysis program (EORA); ensures METRICS scorecards are distributed to the SMT and broadly throughout the company.
* Leads CI strategy and planning, validating new design layouts in DCs with IT and Facilities; maintains strong equipment inspection policies.
* Works with the management team and IT to manage WMS provider relationships; ensures WMS performance supports current and future growth.
* Responsible for inventory levels and accuracy, collaborating with Inventory Control to minimize variances and adjustments.
* Responsible, with the local Supply Chain Manager, for all supply chain activities for Lankhorst Taselaar, including inventory sourcing, purchasing, strategic planning and inventory management.
* Manages budgets and CAPEX/OPEX; approves expenditures to meet capacity, productivity and volume targets.
Facilities & Maintenance Management
* Provides leadership to the infrastructure and maintenance team to support the business while controlling costs.
* Oversees facilities management activities, including vendors, security, cleaning, maintenance, renovations, transformation planning, waste disposal, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
* Guides the annual infrastructure and maintenance plan and related projects.
* Leads RFQs and strategic negotiations with vendors to limit cost increases.
* Manages budgets for CAPEX and OPEX.
People Management & Leadership
* Manages and coaches Operations, Facilities and Quality teams to meet strategic and organizational needs.
* Improves operating efficiency through coaching and performance management.
* Builds a high-performance culture and maintains good industrial relations with unions where applicable.
* Communicates objectives and performance targets to managers and employees; develops individual and collective contribution for continuous improvement.
* Oversees recruitment and training; manages staff performance and develops leadership within Distribution Operations, Facilities and Quality teams.
* Identifies and develops key talents in collaboration with HR; leads procurement for Distribution Operations and Facilities with Procurement Manager.
Skills & Knowledge
* Academic Master or equivalent experience
* 5+ years’ experience in production, warehouse and logistics; proven ability to manage people in a unionized environment, implement cost savings, optimize space, and determine picking/storage methods
* Experience implementing and monitoring health and safety programs
* Proficiency with PCs, MS Office and warehouse/inventory management systems
* ROI and MRP knowledge preferred
* Fluency in English and French (verbal and written)
* Strong communication and relationship management skills
* QMS awareness; high ethics; lead by example
* Excellent project management, planning and organizational skills
* Flexibility to work shifts and occasional weekends
* Ability to lead, motivate and mentor staff; independent thinking and initiative
Our Offer
This exciting position is classified as Global Grade 15 and offers a salary range between €100,000 to €140,000 (payable in 13.92 instalments). The offer will consider factors such as skills, experience and location.
