Sales Engineer (West Flanders) - Industrial Automation - Up to 6k gross per month (dependent on experience)
About the Role
My client is seeking a Sales Engineer who will grow into a pivotal role that bridges technical expertise with customer needs. This is not a traditional sales position, but one where technical insight and commercial acumen come together. While not all skills are required upfront, the role will ultimately include the following responsibilities:
* Project Estimation: Leveraging knowledge of industrial automation to assess technical feasibility, budget requirements, and project complexity.
* Technical Sales: Analyzing customers' automation needs and devising tailored solutions.
* Networking & Relationship Management: Building strong relationships with new and existing customers, and presenting well-founded proposals.
* Quotations & Negotiations: Creating commercial proposals and managing the sales process from initial contact through to closing.
* Team Collaboration: Coordinating closely with engineering teams to ensure smooth handovers and remaining involved as the commercial point of contact throughout project execution.
What My Client Offers
* A dynamic sales position combining technical knowledge with commercial strategy.
* The opportunity to work on cutting-edge industrial automation projects.
* Coaching and support from experienced managers and a collaborative team environment.
* A competitive salary package including a company car, fuel card, mobile phone, laptop, and meal vouchers.
* Flexible working hours (39-hour week) with an emphasis on work-life balance, including the option to work remotely.
* Up to 6k gross per month (dependent on experience) + a generous commission structure and bonuses.
* Ongoing training and career growth opportunities within a stable and supportive organization.
* A collegial and informal workplace culture with regular team activities.
What My Client Is Looking For
* A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field, ideally with a focus on automation.
* Hands-on experience as an automation engineer, with the ability to understand and assess industrial processes.
* Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented, solution-focused mindset.
* A consultative approach—someone who convinces with technical knowledge rather than sales tactics.
* Familiarity with CRM systems and MS Office is a plus.
* A valid category B driving license, as travel is a regular part of the role.
