Project Description:
* R&D Discovery is responsible for discovering and testing chemical and biological compounds of interest for possible further use in pharmaceutical products.
* To support this, the IT organization has both off-the-shelf systems and custom-built applications that bridge any missing requirement, so called ‘gap applications’.
* This team develops and maintains these gap applications.
Current state: Team develops and maintains a suite of custom built applications.
Each have their own roadmap and the team is responsible for managing them all.

Job Description:
* Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders to support the design and development of custom-built software solutions.
* Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the development team
* Collaborate closely with developers and product owners to ensure requirements are clearly understood and effectively implemented
* Facilitate workshops, backlog refinement, and stakeholder reviews to align priorities and manage evolving requirements throughout the software development lifecycle
* Support testing and validation activities by assisting in test case design, user acceptance testing and ensuring delivered solutions meet business expectations
Candidate must haves:
* 4+ years experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in Agile / Scrum environments
* Demonstratable background in chemistry, biochemistry, biotech or related field
* Strong requirements elicitation and documentation skills, including writing clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and wireframes
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience facilitating workshops and bridging the gap between business and technical teams
* Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management platforms
* Able to work in a global team (Belgium & USA), no 9-to-5 mentality
