Job Description
The Firm‑wide Control Management organization is responsible for maintaining a deep understanding of the business, its underlying processes, and the control environment across several categories, including: control design and performance, risk and controls identification & assessment, issues and actions governance, controls governance & reporting, program/project governance and execution, advisory, examination management, preventive reviews, new product assessment, and regulatory management. The Control Management Organization is comprised of a central team representing the first line of defense for the business.
This position will be located in Brazil, supporting the Payments business and the control agenda for the Latin America region. The primary focus will be on performing risk and control assessments for new initiatives, issue management and regulatory change management, identifying and formalizing local nuances through appropriate internal instruments, standards and tools, and conducting control assessments to ensure the control environment remains sustainable and healthy.
Job Responsibilities
* Acts as strategic control partner to Product, Sales, Operations, Technology and other support functions for performing balanced risk management enabling business growth.
* Partner the business in managing Compliance and Operational Risk Issues, including establishing processes to track and drive timely resolution of issues.
* Lead execution of a preventative and detective control agenda that strengthens the control environment, partnering with teams across locations to identify and address operational risks and control concerns.
* Perform control assessments for new initiatives, identifying new or heightened risks and local nuances that should be formalized through internal instruments and frameworks to support growth with a robust control environment.
* Conduct preventative reviews to identify potential risks and implement measures to mitigate them, ensuring a proactive approach to maintaining a robust control environment.
* Monitor internal and external changes impacting the control environment for implemented products at the country level; elevate and address key topics in advance of effective dates.
* Scan and provide advisory to Product teams on new and existing laws and regulations impacting the business.
* Support execution of the Global Control Management agenda at the regional level by socializing projects and requirements, delivering awareness sessions, performing due diligence, and conducting controls assessments to sustain a strong control environment over time.
* Lead Payments control governance meetings/forums and senior management reporting.
* Support regulatory exams, audits and control evaluations.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
* Bachelor’s degree.
* Fluent in English.
* 7+ years of financial service experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred.
* Highly organized, with strong control focus and the ability to prioritize deliverables in a dynamic environment.
* Advanced skills in creating and delivering presentations for senior leaders (Executive‑level communication and stakeholder influence).
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex control topics and insights to drive informed decision‑making.
* Data‑driven, organized, and comfortable operating under ambiguity and change.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
* Advanced Spanish.
* PMP certification.
* Knowledge of Payments products and operating models.
