Our client is an international service provider with a strong financial centre located in Groot‑Bijgaarden. The organisation is known for its professional approach, stable growth and continuous focus on efficiency and quality. To strengthen the Corporate Accounting team, they are looking for a Junior AP-accountant.
Your new role
As a Junior AP-accountant, you will support the Accounting Manager and the wider Corporate Accounting team in the efficient processing and maintenance of accounts payable activities. You will contribute to the accurate handling of vendor invoices, payment runs, reconciliations and reporting, while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and accounting standards.
Your responsibilities include receiving, verifying and registering invoices, resolving discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices, preparing payment runs and maintaining vendor master data. You will generate AP reports and dashboards, follow up on supplier inquiries and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as HR, Operations, Procurement, Tax and Legal.
You will also assist with inventory‑related accounting tasks, including monitoring goods movements, validating stock adjustments and supporting accurate inventory valuation. In addition, you contribute to monthly closings, prepare reconciliation files (bank, trade payables, suspense accounts, inventory) and support internal and external audits.
You will take part in process improvements, system rollouts and the optimisation of AP workflows. With the support of experienced colleagues and on‑the‑job training, you will quickly grow into your role.
Your profile
For this position as Junior AP-accountant, we are looking for a candidate who:
* Has recently obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or has gained a first relevant experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role.
* Has an excellent command of English, knowledge of Dutch and/or French, is a clear asset in this role.
* Works confidently with Excel and has an interest in financial IT tools, knowledge of JD Edwards or SAP S/4HANA is an advantage.
* Has an initial understanding of Belgian or Luxembourg accounting principles, basic knowledge of IFRS is an additional asset.
* Feels comfortable taking responsibility and can handle tasks independently.
* Has an interest in digitalisation and enjoys working with modern financial systems.
