Overview We are currently supporting an international organisation in Antwerp in the appointment of a Senior Accountant. This is a key role within the finance function, offering high visibility and ownership across core accounting, reporting, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will play a central role in the month-end close process, statutory reporting, and audit coordination, working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors in a dynamic, international environment. Key Responsibilities Own and manage the monthly close process, including payroll postings, accruals, and reconciliations Prepare and review statutory financial statements in line with local GAAP and IFRS Deliver accurate and timely external financial reporting Manage VAT declarations and support corporate tax filings Prepare and submit corporate and statutory returns Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors Liaise with internal teams and external finance stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions Ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP requirements Support year-end close and audit processes Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls Operate effectively within Oracle ERP systems Key Requirements Proven experience in a Senior Accountant or statutory reporting role Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (US GAAP exposure is advantageous) Experience with European statutory and external reporting (French or Spanish GAAP is a plus) Solid understanding of VAT and tax compliance processes Experience working with external auditors and corporate stakeholders Strong systems skills, ideally including Oracle Advanced proficiency in Excel Fluent in English Able to work onsite in Antwerp three days per week What’s on Offer Competitive salary depending on experience Hybrid working model Opportunity to work within an international finance environment High level of ownership and exposure within the finance function Collaborative and performance-driven culture If you are a detail-oriented accounting professional seeking a role with strong ownership and international exposure, we encourage you to apply.
