Become a Business Development Manager for the Academic World
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to join our team in launching and succeeding with a new online research database for the humanities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct market research and analyze user needs, trends, business models, and competitor activities to contribute to strategic development.
* Develop and implement effective marketing and sales strategies to drive product success.
* Execute sales strategies successfully, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
* Establish new networks and build strong relationships to investigate and develop commercial opportunities.
* Travel globally to attend events and meetings, present and introduce the new database, and negotiate client onboarding.
Profile:
* A proactive commercially-minded individual with a strong affinity for the academic world; enthusiasm for technology-driven solutions is an advantage.
* Fluent in English; knowledge of French and Dutch is preferred; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
* Solid presentation skills with the ability to engage and persuade diverse audiences.
* In-depth understanding of the academic ecosystem, particularly in the humanities, and the scholarly publishing market.
* Quick learner with an innovative mindset, capable of adapting to new challenges.
* Strong persuasive and diplomatic communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Outlook), with a strong command of analytical tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar.
