We are looking for a Medical Communications and Learning Lead who is collaborative, strategic, and innovative to join us in our Scientific Communications, Medical Education & Information Team, based in our Brussels office in Belgium or Slough, UK.
About the role
Knowledgeable in the field of AI applied to communication, medical education and learning, you will be working in a team that brings scientific leadership to the diseases we focus on and the solutions we provide. Your role will be pivotal in developing and delivering clear, consistent, and impactful medical communications and learning strategies that support our medical objectives globally.
Who you’ll work with
You will be working closely with the Global Asset Head, Global Medical Leads, and cross-functional teams including Patient Impact Maximization, Patient Engagement, Corporate Communications, and Commercial colleagues. What you’ll do
1. Lead and be accountable for effective and impactful medical/scientific communications planning and execution over the life cycle for the assigned asset(s) with adequate/minimal supervision, ensuring alignment to the Global Medical Strategy and the cross-functional teams within UCB
2. Work in close collaboration with the PIM (Patient Impact Maximization) Operations Team and key stakeholders/countries, ensuring effective co-creation of customer-facing
3. Align the organization on scientific evidence interpretation and communication for products and disease landscapes.
4. Develop and deliver effective training strategies and resources for Medical Scientific Liaisons.
5. Drive adoption of innovative solutions, including AI, for medical communications and learning.
6. Lead congress strategy and ensure impactful delivery of medical strategies at global scientific events.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
7. Master’s degree in bioscience required; Ph.D. preferred.
8. Minimum 10 years’ experience in medical communications, medical education, or related fields in a global role.
9. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory environments and industry guidelines.
10. Proven strategic thinking and attention to detail, with alignment to broader objectives.
11. Experience managing scientific communications technology and leading vendors.
12. Excellent command of written and spoken English; other languages are an asset.
