Application Engineer

Position overview:
Spraying Systems AutoJet Europe is looking for a technically skilled and motivated engineer to join our team. This position is designed as a development path: you will start with a 6-month assignment as a Project Engineer, focusing on customer-specific solutions and gaining in-depth knowledge of our products and internal tools. After this period, and based on your acquired expertise, you will transition into the role of Application Engineer, acting as a key interface between our sales team and manufacturing site.
Phase 1 - Project Engineer (Learning and Integration Period)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the design, follow-up, and validation of spray system projects.
2. Assist in the creation of functional descriptions, BOMs, and operation / maintenance instructions.
3. Contribute to system installations, start-up support, and budget / timeline monitoring.
4. Develop your understanding of spray technologies.
5. Participate in continuous improvement activities related to quality, safety, and sustainability (ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
Qualifications:
6. Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical background.
7. Strong communication and organizational skills.
8. Basic knowledge of industrial automation and mechanical design.
9. Interest in process applications (, lubrication, humidification, dust suppression).
10. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
11. Experience with Siemens PLC, AutoDesk Inventor, or EPLAN is a plus.
Phase 2 - Application Engineer (After +/- 6 Months):
Key Responsibilities:
12. Act as the primary liaison between sales and manufacturing, ensuring technical feasibility and product alignment.
13. Analyze customer requests and provide technical proposals using the SPX quotation tool.
14. Support the development of custom solutions in collaboration with internal engineering teams.
15. Participate in field visits for system start-ups and opportunity assessments.
16. Conduct training for the sales team and contribute to product strategy and template improvement.
Expected Knowledge (to be developed during Phase 1):
17. In-depth understanding of AutoJet spray systems and PulsaJet PWM technology.
18. Familiarity with standard spray applications (, coating, cooling, gas conditioning, dust suppression, ...).
19. Proficiency in SPX quotation and engineering tools.
