Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Freelance Material Planner to support operations within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment based in Ghent. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials to support production schedules while optimizing inventory levels and supplier performance.This role requires strong coordination across supply chain, production, procurement, and logistics teams to maintain operational efficiency and minimize supply disruptions.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage material planning schedules aligned with production requirementsMonitor inventory levels and ensure material availability to support manufacturing operationsCoordinate closely with suppliers to track deliveries, resolve shortages, and manage lead timesAnalyse material requirements using ERP/MRP systemsIdentify and mitigate supply chain risks impacting productionManage stock accuracy and support inventory optimization initiativesCollaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth inbound material flowSupport continuous improvement initiatives within supply chain and planning processesGenerate planning and KPI reports for internal stakeholdersParticipate in daily operational meetings and escalation management
Required Skills & ExperienceProven experience as a Material Planner, Supply Planner, or Production Planner within the automotive sectorStrong understanding of automotive supply chain and manufacturing operationsExperience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and stakeholder management abilitiesAbility to work independently in a dynamic production environmentFluent in English; Dutch is preferred
