We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive A–Z & GL Accountant to join our finance team in Kortrijk. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle from A to Z, with a strong focus on general ledger accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient month-end and year-end closing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Full-cycle accounting (A–Z)
* Manage end-to-end accounting processes, from journal entries to financial statements
* Ensure accurate and timely booking of all financial transactions
* Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
General Ledger (GL) management
* Maintain and monitor the general ledger structure
* Post and review GL entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments
* Ensure proper allocation of costs and revenues
Month-end & year-end closing
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
* Support preparation of statutory accounts and audit files
* Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits
Reporting & analysis
* Prepare financial reports and variance analyses
* Support management with financial insights and KPI reporting
* Ensure compliance with local GAAP and company policies
Process improvement
* Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems
* Support automation and digitalization initiatives within finance
Education & experience
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
* 2–5 years of experience in general ledger or A–Z accounting roles
* Experience in an international or multi-entity environment is a plus
Technical skills
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles (BE GAAP; IFRS is a plus)
* Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
* Advanced Excel skills

* Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Good communication skills in Dutch and English (French is a plus)
