System engineer/KONG/API/DEVOPS/Monitoring Tools/AWS/Employee contract
On behalf of our client in the energy sector, we are recruiting a Medior System engineer. The ideal candidate will advise and manage the setup of their API Management platform.
Responsibilities:
* Our current solution is based on KONG, but you work in a technology‐agnostic way so your expertise supports future vendor and solution assessments.
* You align with Enterprise Architecture and Technical Architects on API middleware, structure and maintain API documentation, and define and enforce API policies.
* You support teams in designing secure, consistent, and reusable APIs while ensuring governance, observability, and compliance across the entire API lifecycle in coordination with development, product, and security teams.
* Hands-on experience with Kubernetes is required to contribute to the design, maintenance, and evolution of our container‐based platform services.
* The role will progressively evolve toward platform engineering, contributing to automation, self‐service capabilities, and the industrialization of API delivery and operations.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
* API Management Principles & Tools (KONG, Google Apigee, GraphQL)
* Cloud Azure & AWS: EKS, SQS, S3
* Kubernetes (strong hands‐on experience)
* CI/CD Pipelines
* Monitoring & Logging: ELK, Datadog
* Java Spring Boot (good understanding)
* Languages: Trilingual – English, Dutch & French
