About the role
My client is looking for a Technical Account Manager to drive the commercial development of its professional product range in Walloon Brabant and the Brussels region, with a strong focus on distributors and direct customers such as small, medium and large painting companies.
You play a key role in developing sales, managing commercial relationships and strengthening the presence of the product range among specifiers and key market stakeholders.
Your responsibilities
* Develop sales with distributors in your region and manage direct customers, including professional painting companies.
* Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with wholesalers, including owners, depot staff and sales teams.
* Maintain excellent knowledge of the local market and continuously develop a strong network of decision-makers and clients.
* Develop relationships with architectural offices and general construction companies, spending sufficient time building trust and conducting active prospecting to grow the project and client portfolio.
* Act as a key contact for the introduction of the product range and technical support to specifiers, including the preparation of specifications and tenders.
* Develop and manage a broad network including general contractors, project managers, developers, investors, retail chains, architects and public specifiers (hospitals, public welfare centres, government building agencies, cities and municipalities), as well as independent and semi-professional customers.
* Build strong internal relationships and collaborate closely with the Technical and Marketing departments.
* Share market insights with colleagues and report directly to the Regional Sales Manager.
About the ideal candidate
You hold an education degree in commercial management, construction, architecture or an equivalent field. You have 5 to 15 years of B2B commercial experience, either as a project or site manager with strong market knowledge, or as a sales professional within a company supplying materials to the construction or real estate sector.
You are able to understand technical specifications for private projects and public tenders.
Commercial by nature, you are recognised for your professionalism, efficiency and negotiation skills. You are a true hunter, constantly looking for new opportunities, and a strong networker who regularly attends events within the construction and real estate sectors, with a long-term relationship mindset.
Autonomous and field-oriented, you spend a significant amount of time visiting clients and prospects while also valuing teamwork. You are organised, structured, naturally assertive, an excellent communicator and able to manage stress effectively.
You are comfortable working with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). You are fluent in French, have sufficient knowledge of Dutch to interact with Dutch-speaking colleagues and clients in the Brussels region, and have a good understanding of English in an international context. Ideally, you live in or close to the region.
