As Business Data Manager – Energy Sector, you will help shape the reliability and sustainability of the electricity supply by improving data quality and supporting a greener, more efficient energy infrastructure.
Junior Data Quality Manager – Energy Sector - About the Mission
The ambition of this mission is to make the organization more data-centric, ensuring higher quality in system operations and strengthening the overall security of supply for consumers.
We have defined several critical operational data domains for which a dedicated data quality roadmap will be rolled out. The Business Data Manager – Energy Sector will lead the implementation of this roadmap, connecting operational teams with projects and products that directly impact the electricity market.
One concrete example is the improvement of forecasting data for renewable production (solar & wind), which is consumed both internally and externally by market players.
Key Responsibilities of the Junior Data Quality Manager – Energy Sector
* Develop and implement the data quality strategy for key operational data domains.
* Apply and promote the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
* Define and monitor data quality KPIs, and set up action plans for continuous improvement.
* Document business concepts, terms, and rules to enable measurement and governance.
* Lead root cause analyses when KPIs fall short of targets, in collaboration with data partners.
* Actively contribute to projects anchoring data quality processes in operational teams.
* Advise operational managers on corrective actions and improvement levers.
Profile – Junior Data Quality Manager – Energy Sector
* Familiar with the electricity domain or able to quickly grasp its concepts.
* Preferably an electrical engineer or holder of a similar technical background.
* Solid experience in data management and exploitation.
* Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and metadata management.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complexity into simple, structured solutions.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to lead workshops.
* Familiar with data models and IT architecture.
* Collaborative, proactive, and convincing.
* Fluent in Dutch and/or French, with excellent command of English.

* Location: Brussels with occasional presence at other sites.
* Eligibility: Candidates must have the right to work and reside in Belgium (valid work & residence permit required).
