Your role as our IP Design Engineer As an IP Design Engineer, you help design and develop the IP network that supports our telecom and media services. You work closely with other engineers within the Backbone and Datacenter Infrastructure Tribe to keep our network stable, secure, and ready for the future. You translate business and user needs into clear IP network designs. You make sure our network evolves in a flexible and scalable way, while keeping performance and security top of mind. You are part of a team that works with modern and diverse technologies in a fast-changing environment. In this role, you combine design work with hands-on technical expertise and collaboration: Design and review IP network solutions together with your team Support business projects by designing solutions and helping during implementation Define and standardize IP services and network principles Participate in agile ceremonies such as planning, refinement, and reviews Document designs and share knowledge with operations and engineering teams Define and follow processes, standards, and best practices Automate recurring tasks where possible Help solve Layer 3 incidents and complex network problems Your profile as our IP Design Engineer You are an experienced IP network engineer who likes to take ownership and work end‑to‑end. You look beyond your own domain and always consider the full end‑to‑end solution. You take ownership of your work and follow through on responsibilities, even in complex situations. You stay calm under pressure and focus on quality, stability, and clear results. You work well with others, communicate openly, and understand the business context behind technical decisions. You actively keep your knowledge up to date with new technologies and trends. English is essential for this role, while Dutch and/or French is considered a strong plus. Must have Strong understanding of TCP/IP and core networking principles CCNA level or equivalent hands-on experience Knowledge of Quality of Service Experience with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL) Experience with MPLS L3 VPN and overlay networking Hands-on experience with Nokia IP routers Nice to have CCNP level or equivalent Basic Linux knowledge and interest in automation (Bash, Python, Ansible, Git) Interest in network security concepts (VPN, NAT, high availability) Knowledge of multicast Our offer to you At Telenet group, you get more than just an attractive gross salary.
