The Role
The company is seeking a C++ Application Software Engineer to join their team near Bruges. This is a product-focused role centred on the development of scalable desktop applications. You will work within a modern engineering environment that prioritises clean architecture, performance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain high-performance desktop applications using modern C++
* Contribute to the architecture and scalability of complex simulation software
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and domain experts
* Optimise software performance for large-scale, data-heavy simulations
* Ensure high code quality through best practices, testing, and code reviews
* Participate in continuous improvement of development processes and tools
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong experience with modern C++ (C++17 or later)
* Experience developing desktop applications
* Familiarity with Qt and/or QML
* Experience working with SQL databases
* Proficiency with build systems such as CMake
* Understanding of performance optimisation in complex systems
Nice to Have
* Experience working with large-scale simulation software
* Exposure to AI or machine learning technologies
