We’re looking for a Calibration Laboratory Supervisor to lead a high-performing calibration lab and a distributed field service team supporting pharma and semiconductor advanced manufacturing. You’ll combine people leadership with hands-on SME work—raising quality, speed and customer satisfaction.
People & operations leadership
1. Lead and support a team focused on technical excellence and customer satisfaction.
2. Manage and oversee daily operations of the calibration laboratory in Belgium and field technicians
3. Plan and schedule calibration activities, equipment repairs, and logistics.
4. Drive revenue and margin targets, managing KPIs and performance metrics.
5. Onboarding, capability building, 1:1s, coaching, performance reviews, succession planning, competency matrix ownership.
6. Capacity planning with Sales, consumables/spares management, vendor/contractor oversight
7. Ensure calibrations/testing meet company SOPs and applicable guidelines (e.g., ISO and GMP).
Quality, standards & continuous improvement
8. Support QA Department into CAPA/root-cause analysis;
9. Contribute to documentation standards aligned with company SOPs and applicable guidelines (e.g., GMP/ISO).
10. Collaborate with internal departments to continuously improve service processes.
Technical SME (hands-on)
11. Calibrate, verify and repair particle counters (e.g., per ISO 21501), flow sensors and air-volume devices; sign off on complex cases and documentation.
12. Provide remote software support via secure VPN/remote desktop: diagnose issues, collect logs, guide installs/patches, and push configuration/firmware updates; document interventions.
13. Occasionally travel on-site (mainly France, BeNeLux, North Africa) for commissioning, validation, escalations and advanced troubleshooting; deliver customer training.
14. Review technical documentation and service reports.
Stakeholder collaboration
15. Partner with Sales on capacity planning, quotes for non-standard work, and service upgrades.
16. Coordinate with Quality/EHS/Logistics to keep the lab and field operations compliant, safe and efficient.
17. 5+ years in calibration/metrology or field service for instrumentation, including 2+ years in team lead/supervisory capacity.
18. A good knowledge of English, and French (both written and oral).
19. Upper-secondary technical diploma or Bachelor’s in Electromechanics/Electronics (or equivalent experience).
20. Basic TCP/IP, device setup via Ethernet/USB, remote diagnostics (VPN).
21. Flexibility, precision and attention to details.
22. Customer orientation.
23. Leadership strengths: coaching, situational leadership, planning & prioritization, data-driven decisions, stakeholder management.
24. Very good knowledge of MS Office.
25. ERP for asset & certificates, CRM/ticketing (e.g., cases), basic data skills (Excel/Power BI) for KPIs
26. Must have a valid Category B driver’s license, good driving record, and an active Passport or the ability to obtain a Passport.
27. Travel availability in France, BeNeLux, North Africa and the entire EMEA region is required.
28. Experience in GMP/ISO-regulated industries (pharma/medtech/semiconductor).
29. Windows domain experience (Active Directory): installing/configuring software in AD environments (service accounts/permissions, basic GPO considerations).
30. Power BI/Excel modeling for KPI dashboards.
