Description de l'offre

Lead Application Engineer - Multronic NV Tienen, Belgium | Full-time | Reports to CTO We build systems that work. We develop emission control, monitoring technology, and energy management solutions for maritime, energy, and industrial applications where compliance is not optional and downtime is not acceptable. Everything we deliver is built in-house: hardware, software, control, and monitoring. No black boxes, no outsourced responsibility, no excuses. We work on large engines. Marine propulsion, industrial power generation, generator sets, energy management systems. If the sound of a 16-cylinder diesel starting up makes you pay attention, you will feel at home here. We are a small team doing work that matters in a market that is growing fast. We keep things lean, we communicate directly, and we solve problems without making them bigger than they are. Every project we deliver teaches us something. When we solve something well, we productise it. Modular by design, repeatable by intention. Good engineering should not have to start from zero every time. This is not a role for everyone. It is for the engineer who wants their work to matter and is ready to prove it. WHO YOU ARE You have 8-12 years of real engineering experience behind you. You design electrical schematics and handle mechanical integration. You plan projects, coordinate with customers and suppliers, and you make sure things get delivered. You have been on job sites. You know what it means when a system does not behave as designed and you fix it. You bring your experience to the team and you are not shy about using it to raise the standard around you. You work closely with colleagues in Belgium, UK, Czech Republic and Italy, you make sure things are aligned, and you naturally raise the bar without needing a title to do it. You do not need to know everything and we do not expect you to. What matters is that you are genuinely curious, you ask the right questions, and you go find the answer when you do not have it. You get energy from contributing and executing, not from politics. What drives you is seeing something through, from blank sheet to running system. The role moves fast and it is demanding. Some days you are pulled in multiple directions at once, projects overlap, and priorities shift. What keeps it manageable is you: you naturally bring order to chaos, you prioritise without drama, and you plan ahead without over-engineering it. We are direct about performance. If something is not working, we say it. We expect the same from you. RESPONSIBILITIES Design electrical schematics, panel layouts, and mechanical integration across EATS, generator controls, and EMS Own projects end-to-end: scope, planning, deliverables, commissioning, and customer sign-off Coordinate with customers, suppliers, OEMs, classification societies, and internal teams Work closely with colleagues across the technical team, production, and sales and admin Support customers directly: be the person they call when something is unclear or wrong, and make sure they never feel alone with a problem Go on site when it matters: installations, commissioning, troubleshooting Be the senior presence on projects: ensure the junior is prepared, the data is right, the customer is handled, and the visit is reported properly Travel approximately 2-4 days per month in Benelux; occasionally broader Europe QUALIFICATIONS 8-12 years in a hands-on technical engineering role; what you have done matters more than where you studied Electrical: schematics, component sizing, panel build supervision, PLC logic; E-Plan is a plus Mechanical: drawings, piping, flanged connections, structural and vibration constraints; you know what to ask a designer and how to give useful direction; SolidWorks is a bonus You know how a large diesel or gas engine works and find it genuinely interesting Projects delivery FAT/SAT experience and field troubleshooting on live systems Background at a system integrator or on shipyards, vessels, or industrial retrofit projects Experience coordinating a small technical team before, not just in title but in practice Fluent in Dutch; solid English; French is a plus; any other language is welcome NICE TO HAVE Conceptual understanding of exhaust aftertreatment (SCR, DPF, DOC) Familiarity with CAN bus, J1939, or Modbus Experience with generator sets, paralleling, power distribution, or load management Exposure to energy storage, battery integration, or DC bus architectures Background in emission monitoring or certification processes (Stage V, IMO Tier III, class societies) WHY MULTRONIC At a bigger company you execute someone else's vision. At Multronic you help shape it. We develop our own technology: in-house controls, in-house software, in-house monitoring systems. We do not integrate other people's black boxes. We build the thing itself. Our core is emission reduction and emission monitoring, and we are expanding that into energy management systems for vessels. Making things simple is hard. That is exactly what we are here for. A role where your work is visible and your impact is real. If you perform, you grow. And as Multronic grows, so does the opportunity around you.
