Freelance Business Controller – 12‐Month Mission (Ghent)
Location: Ghent (Hybrid – 2 days remote, 3 days on‐site)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Controller to support financial performance management and strategic decision‐making across the organisation. Based in Ghent, this 12‐month mission will work closely with the CFO and internal departments to monitor financial results, produce insightful reporting, and advise on operational and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to business partnering.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting
* Perform detailed financial analysis, variance analysis, and cost assessments.
* Create and maintain regular financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to communicate economic performance.
* Monitor revenue, expenditure, and profitability metrics across the organisation.
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning cycles.
Profile Requirements
Essential
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in finance, controlling, business analysis, or accounting.
* Strong quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder‐management abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience working with Power BI for dashboards and reporting.
Desirable
* Experience in an international or matrix organisation.
* Knowledge of Belgian accounting standards and financial regulations.
* Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
