For future large construction projects at BESIX, we are looking for experienced Project Directors.
To reinforce our teams in Europe & Africa, BESIX is searching for Project Directors with relevant work experience abroad as a Project Director on projects above €150 million, who want to build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and multidisciplinary companies with a leading position in its markets: construction, property development, and concessions.
The purpose of this position is to perform essential construction management duties, establishing a construction execution framework for the project(s) and ensuring safety, quality, value, timeliness, and profitability. The Project Director also works closely with General Management and Business Development to target and pre-position for opportunities in a region or country.

Duties and responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate the successful completion of projects according to client requirements, policies, procedures, contracts, and specifications;
* Coordinate with the Procurement Team and all third parties, negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout all project stages, handle tenders and contracts;
* Participate in contract preparation and negotiation, ensuring contractual requirements are met;
* Validate contractual options, including technical, financial, or time-related aspects;
* Manage contractual and financial follow-up and budget control;
* Engage in social contacts and public relations to benefit the company;
* Implement project budgets and resources, enforce standards, manage team allocation, mobilize personnel, and prepare progress reports;
* Build relationships within the industry to generate business opportunities;
* Manage training and professional development of project employees;
* Apply in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge to project situations;
* Manage teams effectively, seeking consensus and listening skills;
* Possess advanced contract management knowledge;
* Deep understanding of technical domains and site organization;
* Assess issues rapidly, develop solutions, and implement strategies;
* Communicate effectively with internal and external parties;
* Negotiate at high levels in complex environments;
* Maintain professionalism, entrepreneurial spirit, and result orientation;
* Show flexibility and adaptability;
* Be commercially gifted.
Qualifications
* Academic degree in Engineering (construction or architecture);
* At least 15 years of relevant experience managing large, complex projects (>€150 million) in construction, civil, marine, or infrastructure works;
* Deep practical and theoretical knowledge with conceptual understanding;
* Extensive experience in claim handling and contract management (FIDIC);
* Fluent in English; proficiency in another European language, French or Dutch, is an asset.
