Accounting Specialist – General Ledger (m/f/d)
Be among the first applicants and join an international accounting team to support the efficient and high-quality execution of general ledger accounting.
* Independently handle all general ledger postings for several international entities.
* Post accruals, provisions, intercompany transactions, and other general ledger entries in compliance with legal requirements and internal guidelines.
* Serve as a point of contact for internal departments and external partners regarding postings, reconciliations, and balance sheet items.
* Analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts, identify discrepancies, and support the implementation of measures to ensure financial data quality.
* Assist in the continuous improvement of processes, policies, and internal controls within the general ledger function.
* Contribute to the optimization and automation of GL processes, and participate in the implementation and development of ERP systems and reporting tools.
* Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS, including report creation, account reconciliation, and documentation of balance sheet items.
* Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., AR/AP, Controlling, Group Accounting, Tax, Treasury) and external partners such as auditors.
* Ensure all activities in the General Ledger area comply with legal requirements, corporate policies, and compliance standards.
* Report to the Team Lead General Ledger.
Your profile
* Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field – ideally with a focus on Finance, Accounting, or Controlling.
* Several years of professional experience in general ledger accounting in an international environment.
* Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and relevant accounting and tax regulations.
* Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools; knowledge of SAP Business ByDesign, Vena, or comparable systems is a plus.
* Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented approach with strong numerical skills.
* Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken; additional languages such as German, Dutch, or French are a plus.
* Team-oriented, takes initiative, and is known for accuracy and responsibility.
