As a Software Engineer, you will work on exciting multidisciplinary projects within biotech and biopharma. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, maintaining and documenting solutions, taking into account the architectural guidelines and the client's needs in order to optimise the software application and to have it meet the expected standards. You’ve designed and built multiple on prem and cloud native solutions. Starting at ideation up to CICD / DevOps driven automated deploys. You like to work collaboratively with clients as well as with internal teams. You have a business mindset: looking for opportunities as well as up and cross sells. You hold a master degree in Computer science (or equivalent by a proven track record.) A passion for technology and its application in the life sciences. Fluent in python. Eager to learn, as a consultant you will need to answer to the needs of the client, which means learning new skills is part of the job description. You are able to manage your time and have a basic understanding of project management. Having front-end experience (react) is a nice plus. Knowledge or background in life sciences is considered an advantage. Fluent in English. Based in Belgium, with availability to commute to Ghent two days per week. Extra plusses, either You have experience in AI/ML: training models, inference calls, MLOps. You have experience in date engineering. You understand what common data problems are and understand pros and cons of different data solutions, and understand technically how they work. Responsibilities: You lead (bioinformatics-oriented) software projects. You support sales and pre-sales by joining meetings as an expert in the field. You drive innovation in the company from a software point of view. You look for opportunities to improve existing tools or workflows. You are client facing: communication with the client is essential in our client intimate relations. You share responsibilities to keep the budget, timelines, hours allocated and worked under control, clear communication both internally and with the client in a timely manner.
