We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Data Governance Specialist. This position involves driving the deployment of data governance at our organization, providing speed and scale in unlocking the value of data. The ideal candidate will work in an agile environment to enable data workers finding, understanding and trusting the data that they need.
This is a unique opportunity for a talented data-minded professional to organize and coordinate the Data Catalogue and Classification Program. As part of our data transformation, we have invested in setting up a Data Catalogue that must now be filled & curated. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the collaboration of various teams in capturing sufficient documentation of their data assets to make this curated Catalogue a success in meeting internal needs such as data discovery, compliance, and impact analysis.
The key responsibilities of this role include identifying data stores to catalogue and prioritizing them in a backlog according to select priorities, raising awareness in teams responsible for identified data stores, coordinating with supporting teams the onboarding in the Data Catalogue of necessary artefacts, engaging in workshops if specific support is needed from supporting teams, ensuring validation of the outcome of cataloguing activities together with support teams, and handling escalations together with the Data Governance Center of Excellence.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Data Governance Specialist will support the steering of data governance capabilities and processes required to support the program and ensure they meet the governance principles defined for the group. This role also serves as the link between the Data Governance Centre of Excellence and data workers, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
To be successful in this role, candidates should hold a master's degree in IT, Engineering, Business Engineering or equivalent in experience, possess 1 to 3+ years of working experience in a Data Governance, and/or Project Management role, have previous experience with Collibra Data Catalogue and Automatic Classification, and be a strong team player who enjoys working with people of different technical/business backgrounds.
