R&D Discovery is responsible for discovering and testing chemical and biological compounds of interest for possible further use in pharmaceutical products.
To support this, the IT organization has both off-the-shelf systems and custom-built applications that bridge any missing requirement, so called ‘gap applications’.
This team develops and maintains these gap applications.
Current state: Team develops and maintains a suite of custom built applications.
Each have their own roadmap and the team is responsible for managing them all.

Job Description:
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders to support the design and development of custom-built software solutions.
Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the development team
Collaborate closely with developers and product owners to ensure requirements are clearly understood and effectively implemented
Facilitate workshops, backlog refinement, and stakeholder reviews to align priorities and manage evolving requirements throughout the software development lifecycle
Support testing and validation activities by assisting in test case design, user acceptance testing and ensuring delivered solutions meet business expectations
Candidate must haves:
4+ years experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in Agile / Scrum environments
Demonstratable background in chemistry, biochemistry, biotech or related field
Strong requirements elicitation and documentation skills, including writing clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and wireframes
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience facilitating workshops and bridging the gap between business and technical teams
Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management platforms
Able to work in a global team (Belgium & USA), no 9-to-5 mentality
