As Business Development Manager you are responsible for the sales and marketing activities of UNILIN’s Parquet division with the objective of expanding the market share in your respective region. You work foremost autonomously and will actively prospect potential customers, next to that you will also work closely together with HQ and the factory (Malaysia). You will be focused on building long term relations with both internal and external stakeholders.

1. StrategyAnalyze the region and prepare the regional strategic plan for parquetGather market intelligence and analyze competitive playfieldAbility to assess the margin implications and business potential of different customers
2. ProspectionPut the plan in reality by actively prospecting new customersExpand customer base and business footprint for Unilin parquet division in the region, grow market shareNegotiate commercial agreements with customers including pricing, payment terms and rebate agreements
3. Account managementConvert prospects into new key accounts and maintain those accounts to allow further growth on the long runWork closely together with product management team, supply chain team and factory (Malaysia) to align sales with product & operational strategyBuild effective, lasting relationships with customers
4. OtherDevelop product knowledge to become an expert and advocate in the wood categoryAttend regular sales meetings to discuss short, mid and long term plan of the business
Who are you?
5. Educated to a degree level in a commercial or business related discipline
6. The appetite for “knocking on doors” and creating new opportunities, whilst always focusing on building valuable relationships with existing accounts.
7. Initial experience in a field-based territory sales role is essential, within the flooring/building/home improvement sector, and a good understanding of the routes to market is required
8. You are willing to travel the majority of your time (which is why there's no need to live in Belgium in this position).
9. You can handle complexity and you know how to put the right priorities
10. Focus on delivering results and work objective oriented
11. You are a good communicator, being fluent in English is a must
