About the Role
Proximus is building a next‑generation Digital & Agentic Assistant capability that goes far beyond today’s conversational tools. Instead of scripted question‑answer flows, we are evolving towards autonomous, proactive, AI‑driven agents that orchestrate complex customer interactions, execute tasks, and support internal teams across channels. This includes moving from traditional decision‑tree automation to agentic AI, integrated with technologies such as Gemini‑augmented Dialogflow intent detection, LangGraph‑based agentic flows, Azure AI services, and a Customer Request Orchestrator for dynamic routing between human and AI agents. To support this evolution we are looking for an IT Domain Architect who will shape the end‑to‑end architecture of this critical IT domain and guide its evolution in line with group strategy, technology standards and business ambitions.
Responsibilities
Own and evolve the architectural vision by creating, maintaining and communicating the architecture of the digital and agentic assistant domain (functional, technical, data, integration, and non‑functional).
Ensure the assistant remains scalable, robust and future‑proof while enabling new agentic capabilities.
Design a modular architecture that balances vendors, supports an omni‑channel customer experience, and allows reusable blocks between agentic customer support and agentic assistance for employees.
Balance low‑code versus pro‑code solutions, citizen development versus full‑stack engineering, and keep cost visibility and cost awareness.
Ensure a seamless chat and voice interface across all technologies and intents.
Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, other domain architects and engineering teams to ensure alignment of the proposed architecture with all stakeholders.
Ensure architecture aligns with Proximus’ enterprise architecture principles, technology standards and security requirements.
Guide solution design and delivery: steer squads and solution architects, coach engineers, guard architectural coherence, and support solution architects to ensure day‑to‑day delivery fits the long‑term vision.
Monitor day‑to‑day technology trends, identify opportunities to leverage innovation, and guide developers in best practices such as AI‑assisted development and test‑driven development.
Create a POC to demonstrate the possibilities of new technology within the domain.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Proximus security policies, and identify AI‑related risks and collaborate with other teams to implement mitigations.
Qualifications
Strong experience as a Domain Architect, Solution Architect or similar senior technical architecture role.
Deep knowledge of modern IT architecture: cloud‑native design, APIs, integration, data flows, automation, security‑by‑design, and scalable platforms.
Understanding of agentic AI technologies such as LangGraph, Azure AI, orchestration engines, intent detection and automation.
Curious, forward‑looking and comfortable shaping a new capability in a fast‑evolving field.
Experience working in complex enterprise environments with multi‑squad or multi‑vendor delivery models.
Ability to translate strategy into coherent architecture and actionable roadmaps.
A proactive, structured and collaborative mindset.
Skeptical of building patterns in code and frameworks before standardizing them for squads.
Comfortable bridging citizen AI & low‑code and pro‑code agent frameworks and publishing agents to channels.
Maker‑architect preference for technical authority over people management.
Excellent communication and influencing skills to balance long‑term vision with operational realities.
Fluent in English; French and/or Dutch is considered a plus.
Why This Role Matters
This role has high visibility and direct impact—your work influences how millions of customers interact with Proximus and how internal teams deliver next‑generation digital capabilities.
You will be part of the engineering team responsible for the engineering and operations of the platforms of our digital assistant.
