National Dangerous Goods Manager Full‑time position based in Antwerp, Belgium. You will oversee all Dangerous Goods (DG) and Hazardous Materials (HazMat) activities across the country, ensuring compliance with corporate QSHE standards, the Integrated Management System, and national/international regulations.>
Overview
As National Dangerous Goods Manager, you will be the subject‑matter expert on DG/HazMat, driving safety, compliance, and operational excellence. You will manage DG/HazMat processes for transport and storage, support cross‑functional teams, and foster a strong DG/HazMat culture throughout Kuehne+Nagel Belgium.
Responsibilities
Implement, monitor, and track national DG/HazMat targets, including customer‑specific requirements, monthly KPIs (incidents, CAPAs, audits) and prepare reports to support decision‑making.
Liaise with customers, authorities, certification bodies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on DG/HazMat matters; promote synergies across business units and collaborate with the global QSHE team.
Support business and functional units in implementing DG/HazMat requirements and maintaining close collaboration.
Oversee regulatory enforcement actions in cooperation with QSHE and external agencies.
Coordinate the national DG specialist network and compile the Annual DGSA Report (where applicable).
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Support external audits (vendors, customers, certification bodies) and national Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning.
Lead gap analyses and drive continuous improvement of QSHE processes, CAPAs, and training materials.
Coach and develop staff, including performance management and training needs assessment; skilled in leading workshops and training sessions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or QSHE (preferred).
Strong knowledge of DG/HazMat regulations and standards; minimum 5 years of QSHE work experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain management.
Internal Lead Auditor qualification; 2–5 years of leadership experience (direct and functional).
Knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 and experience with food safety, healthcare or pharma standards (preferred).
Proficient user of MS Office and experience with IMS implementation & maintenance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong background in project management, process engineering, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement; lean management knowledge preferred.
Open to frequent travel between the different sites in Belgium.
