Context :
The mission takes place within a large-scale Belgian organization. The Cloud Platform Engineer will join a multidisciplinary server and platform team responsible for designing, building, and operating cloud platforms that support business-critical applications.
Working closely with internal teams and external consultants, the engineer will contribute to the development of a secure, automated, and scalable Azure cloud platform, with a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code, DevOps practices, and container platforms.
Mission & Responsibilities :
As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of cloud platforms and automation solutions.
Your main responsibilities include:
* Design, build, and maintain automated cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure
* Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (and Bicep as a plus)
* Build, operate, and evolve the Azure Kubernetes / container platform
* Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support infrastructure and platform deployments
* Collaborate with development and data teams to deploy new infrastructure and platform services
* Ensure platform availability, performance, security, and reliability
* Monitor system health, latency, and resource usage using cloud-native and open-source observability tools
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments
* Contribute to the automation and standardization of operational processes
* Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and operational procedures
* Communicate status, risks, and technical choices to engineering and management stakeholders
Nice-to-have skills
* Experience with Bicep / ARM templates
* Knowledge of landing zones, Well-Architected Framework, and cloud-native security patterns
* Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc.)
* Experience with data platform services such as Azure Data Factory or Databricks
* Azure certifications
