Automation Engineer (OT / SCADA)
Location: West Flanders, Belgium (Hybrid)
The Opportunity:
We are partnering with an innovative, internationally active manufacturing organisation undergoing a major digital transformation across its production environments.
As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role within a central OT team, driving the development and optimisation of scalable industrial systems across multiple sites. This position offers a strong blend of hands-on engineering, system design, and cross-site collaboration.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Design, develop, and maintain industrial automation and SCADA solutions across production sites
* Support digitalisation initiatives, transforming operational data into actionable insights
* Work on data collection, datalogging, and system integration projects (e.g. MES, reporting tools)
* Configure, install, and optimise automation systems in line with group standards
* Monitor system performance and drive continuous improvements
* Collaborate with internal teams and external integrators on project delivery
* Contribute to standardisation and scalable solution design across multiple locations
Tech Environment:
* SCADA / HMI platforms
* PLC programming (Siemens or similar)
* Industrial communication protocols (e.g. OPC)
* Data logging / Historian systems
* SQL and industrial data environments
* Exposure to MES and system integration
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or OT environments
* Strong knowledge of PLCs and SCADA systems
* Understanding of industrial networks and data flows
* Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with a pragmatic approach
* Comfortable working in a multi-site, international environment
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
