As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the technical development of composite products from concept to production. You will bridge design, engineering, and manufacturing, ensuring that technical solutions are feasible, functional, and aligned with production capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the technical execution of composite product development projects from initial design to industrialization.
* Develop and oversee structural and production designs, including laminate layups and material specifications.
* Perform or coordinate finite element analyses (FEA) for structural validation and performance optimization.
* Guide the development of tooling and manufacturing solutions in collaboration with production and design teams.
* Manage prototype development and validation, ensuring functional and structural requirements are met.
* Identify and implement improvements in manufacturing methods and product performance.
* Apply lessons learned to enhance future products and processes, driving continuous improvement.
* Maintain close communication with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure technical alignment and timely project delivery.
* Support risk assessment, cost estimation, and technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Your Profile
* Proven experience in engineering and project coordination involving composite materials.
* Strong understanding of structural mechanics and composite behavior under load.
* Hands-on experience with FEA tools (Femap, Nastran, or equivalent) for structural verification.
* Knowledge of relevant production techniques (e.g., CNC machining, thermoforming, resin infusion, autoclave processing).
* Creative problem solver with a pragmatic mindset and an eye for manufacturability.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables.
* Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Effective communicator who fosters collaboration and respects diverse viewpoints.
* Fluent Dutch and English.
