Head of Supply Chain, Procurement & Quality
GTS Space is working with a company who are a leading electronics design and manufacturing specialist operating across space, imaging, industrial vision, medical and transport sectors. They design and deliver high-reliability hardware and software solutions used in demanding, mission-critical environments.
This hire forms part of a planned succession, with the current Service Manager of Operations transitioning into partial retirement following a structured handover. The company is recruiting ahead of time to ensure continuity, knowledge transfer and long-term operational stability.
The role
You will take ownership of Supply Chain, Procurement and Quality across the business, ensuring product availability, cost efficiency and strong operational performance across electronics and EMS activities.
This is a senior leadership role combining strategic sourcing, operational execution and people management within a high-mix, low-volume environment.
Key responsibilities
Procurement & Supply Chain
* Define and execute sourcing and procurement strategies, including category strategies, supplier negotiations and dual-sourcing
* Manage supply risk, including obsolescence and EOL planning, with a strong Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) mindset
* Monitor and improve supplier performance across quality, compliance and delivery
Inventory & Operational Performance
* Manage and optimise inventory and stock levels to ensure on-time product availability
* Protect operational performance through clear KPIs and structured performance reviews
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
* Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team covering buyers, operations, incoming inspection, PCB testing and repair, logistics and quality engineering
* Drive KPI improvement and embed a culture of continuous improvement
Quality, ERP & Facilities
* Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
* Support the transition to a new ERP system
* Coordinate Facility Management activities in collaboration with HR and senior leadership
What we’re looking for
* 8–10 years’ experience within electronics or EMS, ideally in a high-mix, low-volume environment
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in Purchasing or Procurement
* Strong inventory management experience
* Deep understanding of ISO 9001, including CAPA, 8D and control plans
* Familiarity with IPC-A-610
* Proven strategic and hands-on procurement experience across electronics and mechanical components
* Supplier development and audit experience
* Strong working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems
* PA / QA experience is a strong advantage
* Confident communicator with a collaborative, cross-functional mindset
* Professional English required; French is a strong advantage
