Project Overview
Spencer Ogden is supporting a major European offshore energy developer on the Princess Elisabeth Island Project — the world’s first artificial energy island, located 45 km off the Belgian coast in the North Sea.
This landmark development will serve as a key offshore hub for new wind farms and international power links, driving Europe’s clean energy transition.
We’re seeking an experienced Lead Civil Works Engineer to take ownership of the civil infrastructure package, overseeing delivery through the service readiness and transition phases of this iconic project.
The Role
As Lead Civil Works Engineer, you will:
* Lead and manage the civil works scope covering foundations, drainage, trenches, earthworks, and structural island elements.
* Coordinate detailed design, tendering, and contractor management.
* Ensure on-time, on-budget, and compliant delivery to offshore and civil standards.
* Oversee HSE performance, QA/QC, and contractor progress.
* Interface between design, construction, and operations teams.
* Drive operational readiness and ensure complete handover documentation.
Requirements
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
* 10+ years’ experience in large-scale civil, marine, or infrastructure projects.
* Proven background managing contractors and major construction packages.
* Offshore or remote-site experience strongly preferred.
* Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
* Fluent English (French or Dutch a plus).
* Offshore safety certification (BOSIET / HUET) desirable.
Contract Details
* Duration: 12 months initially (extension likely).
* Location: Brussels HQ with offshore site visits.
* Work Pattern: Hybrid office / site / offshore rotation as required.
* Start Date: ASAP (Q1 2026).
* Rate: Competitive daily rate (negotiable depending on experience).
