🚀 UAV Avionics & Systems Integration Engineer – Next-Gen Aerospace
As a UAV Avionics & Systems Integration Engineer, you’ll be at the centre of it all designing and connecting the “nervous system” of advanced unmanned aircraft. From avionics and sensors to power systems and flight controls, your work ensures everything operates seamlessly in one high-performance ecosystem.
🔍 What You’ll Be Doing
Design & Development
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design UAV systems (airframes, propulsion, avionics, payloads)
* Create detailed designs using CAD tools and perform structural and aerodynamic analysis
* Optimise system performance through integration and modelling
Systems Architecture & Integration
* Define hardware architecture across avionics, sensors, propulsion, and communication systems
* Develop system-level architectures ensuring seamless integration
* Produce system and wiring diagrams for assembly and troubleshooting
Integration & Assembly Support
* Support assembly teams during system integration
* Resolve technical challenges related to wiring, compatibility, and system performance
* Ensure adherence to design specifications and standards
Testing & Validation
* Develop and execute test plans (functional, integration, environmental)
* Analyse results and drive continuous design improvements
Regulatory & Flight Approval
* Ensure compliance with UAV regulations and safety standards
* Prepare and manage flight approval documentation
* Liaise with regulatory authorities and stakeholders
Documentation & Communication
* Maintain detailed technical documentation, diagrams, and reports
* Prepare work instructions for assembly, integration, and testing
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver project goals
✅ What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
* Proven experience in UAV systems engineering, particularly hardware and systems architecture
* Strong understanding of avionics, aerodynamics, propulsion, and electrical systems
* Experience with system integration, testing, and validation processes
* Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g. Siemens NX is a plus)
* Knowledge of UAV regulatory frameworks and standards
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills in multidisciplinary environments
* Fluent in English (Spanish is a plus)
Desirable:
* Experience with SORA and interaction with aviation authorities (e.g. EASA)
* Hands-on UAV flight testing experience
* GCS Operator / External Pilot experience
* Civilian or military drone pilot licenses
