Description
* You lead the team and provide coaching, development, and create a professional team culture;
* You supervise risk acceptance, profitability, and the quality of the portfolio, including claims management;
* You act as a substantive sparring partner and point of contact for complex cases;
* You represent the MGA to insurance companies and maintain the powers of attorney;
* You will oversee underwriting guidelines, compliance, and their consistent application across different product lines, with a focus on customer-oriented claims management;
* You will be responsible for the profitability (P&L) of the MGA portfolio and will have the freedom to develop and implement strategic and innovative initiatives;
* You translate strategy and acceptance policy into daily operations;
* You optimize processes and contribute to digitization and automation initiatives;
* You maintain strong internal and external relationships, including negotiations with insurance companies and collaboration with sales and management;
* You take final responsibility for underwriting decisions within the assigned powers of attorney.
Profile
* You have at least 10 years of relevant experience in underwriting, preferably within the insurance sector;
* You have a thorough knowledge of the most common types of insurance, such as fire, car, and liability insurance;
* You have demonstrable experience in managing, coaching, and developing teams;
* You are able to combine clear guidelines with a collaborative approach;
* You exude professionalism and credibility thanks to your expertise and experience;
* You are a strong negotiator and have excellent stakeholder management skills;
* You have good financial insight with experience in managing P&L and translating strategies into concrete innovations within MGA;
* You work in a structured, quality-oriented, and process-driven manner;
* You have an affinity for digital technology and can quickly think along about optimization and automation possibilities;
* You are results-oriented, hands-on, stress-resistant, and decisive, even in complex situations.
