The Team leader Sheet Metal Works is responsible for operations on the aircraft, mainly focused on Sheet Metal Works, and achieves any related objectives given by the Project Coordinator. His/her role involves assigning tasks to team members, monitoring and reporting the progress of the works. He is preferably but not necessarily a licensed engineer.
Your Main Responsibilities:
1. Reporting & Coordination
2. Reports to the Project Coordinator
3. Receives daily objectives and priorities from the Project Coordinator
4. Reports operational difficulties and deviations immediately
5. Reports disciplinary issues and unresolved problems
6. Acts as back-up to other Team Leaders
7. Provides shift handover notes regarding contractor working hour deviations
8. Leadership & Team Supervision
9. Provides guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to the team
10. Motivates and inspires team members
11. Engages the team with work cards and daily objectives
12. Assigns tasks according to team members’ skills
13. Ensures discipline, teamwork, tidiness, and professionalism
14. Values employees through recognition and appreciation
15. Manages personnel hierarchically and ensures discipline is respected
16. Planning & Task Management
17. Analyzes work to be completed and distributes tasks efficiently
18. Responsible for meeting daily task deadlines
19. Assigns and monitors work during aircraft checks or other assignments
20. Ensures team productivity throughout the shift
21. Performs the structural inspections depending on his company privileges and works on the aircraft personally when team productivity allows
22. Ensures resources match workload and escalates shortages when needed
23. Technical Oversight & Support
24. Signs off work performed personally and supervised work within company privileges
25. Helps and supports team members technically
26. Analyzes findings and prepares repair quotations and estimates
27. Determines labor, tooling, parts, and backshop requirements
28. Creates part requests in the system
29. Documentation & Time Management
30. Ensures prompt sign-off of completed jobs (job cards, work orders, panel lists, etc.)
31. Ensures proper clock-in/out procedures in Protime and AMOS systems
32. Performs and corrects daily AMOS clocking entries
33. Acts as back-up for other Team Leaders in clocking administration
34. Investigates and justifies discrepancies between allocated and actual work time
35. Resource & Productivity Management
36. Mobilizes the team to maximize productive hours
37. Ensures optimal use of rotables, consumables, and materials
38. Monitors contractor working hours outside standard schedules
39. Takes corrective actions to reduce recurring clocking errors
40. Team Development & Continuous Improvement
41. Coaches, trains, informs, motivates, and stimulates team members
42. Works with the Cabin, Composite & Painting Manager to develop team versatility and qualifications
43. Analyzes improvement ideas from the team and promotes them to management
44. Safety, Quality & Compliance
45. Promotes awareness of safety, quality, productivity, and discipline
46. Ensures compliance with regulations and standards in force
47. Maintains operational discipline and proper workplace standards, tidiness and cleanliness of the sheet metal works all along the check
Your Profile :
48. Engineering degree in aviation maintenance or equivalent through experience.
49. Holding a B1 license and mastering structural inspections is a plus.
50. Extensive knowledge of the SRM
51. Minimum 4 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance or equivalent through experience
52. Solution oriented, stress resistant
53. Dynamic
54. Team player; able to analyse, to synthesize, to prioritise; excellent communicator
55. Customer oriented and service sensitivity
56. Language skills (English and French and/or Dutch)
57. IT skills (Microsoft office)
58. Knowledge of AMOS is an asset
