Context
To support our client based in Brussels, we are looking for a Medior/ Senior Indirect Buyer (Professional Services).
YOUR ROLE
As a Project Buyer – Retail & Support, you will play a key role in transforming procurement into a strategic value creator. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, driving cost-consciousness, innovation, and compliance across the supplier landscape.
You will lead and coordinate procurement projects across Retail & Support categories, working closely with internal stakeholders to:
* Optimize our supplier portfolio
* Reduce total cost of ownership (TCO)
* Drive supplier performance to industry-leading standards
Your impact will be direct and measurable — contributing to client's EBITDA and long-term strategic goals.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
* Define and execute category strategies that align with business needs and sustainability goals.
* Lead end-to-end sourcing processes (RFx), in line with the defined strategy of the relevant category, from market analysis to contract award, ensuring value creation and TCO optimization.
* Act as a trusted advisor to internal clients: understand their needs, challenge assumptions, and translate requirements into clear specifications.
* Negotiate and manage contracts in line with internal policies and category strategies.
* Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
* Stay ahead of the curve by tracking market trends and supplier innovations.
* Contribute to procurement excellence by improving tools, processes, and ways of working.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
* Master’s degree in a relevant field.
* Proven experience in (project) procurement, ideally within indirect spend (e.g., marketing, contact centers, fleet, HR, financial services).
* Strong background in project management and sourcing methodology.
* Demonstrated ability to lead RFx processes autonomously.
* Skilled in stakeholder management and building internal partnerships.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills — persuasive and influential.
* Strong analytical mindset with expertise in cost analysis and supplier evaluation.
* Fluent in English; good command of either Dutch or French is essential.
