We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a CI Manager within our Engineering team to help support our Automotive business. As a CI Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility to drive improved operational performance. This position works to achieve a sustainable continuous improvement culture at the branch. This role works closely with key leaders within the facility and cross-functional partners.
As a CI Manager, you will:
1. Leading a Safety first approach maintaining a zero accident culture. Ensures and monitors work, accident prevention and environmental protection regulations of the facility to assure a safe and productive work environment free of any liabilities or defects.
2. Develop and manage within the CI budget. Manage total facility CI initiatives and progress to completion. Responsible to quickly adapt to financial gaps through adjusting timing of improvement plans, creating additional improvements and overall supporting meeting the branch financial plan.
3. Develops Operational Excellence annual plan with a focus on Lean Tools that drive labour redeployment efficiencies, OEE improvements and shop floor space gains.
4. Able to both teach and implement lean tools.
5. Maintain a culture of functional and Operational Excellence, supports 5S, lean initiatives and to be a committed role model for our Company’s Beliefs and Behaviours.
6. Establish and maintain appropriate internal capabilities and strengthen the organization (Succession Planning) through training, career development opportunities and recruiting as necessary to achieve Manufacturing objectives.
7. Adherence to internal and external Business Processes and Certifications synonymous with a large US Incorporation operating within the Automotive Industry
8. Fulfill assigned primary, secondary and or tertiary deputy/back-up roles as assigned and required on occasion by the business.
To be successful you'll need:
9. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Lean Management, or similar
10. Minimum of 5 years experience in hands-on operational roles in supply chain management, engineering or manufacturing
11. 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role
12. Manufacturing experience is a must
13. Experience in applying Lean Thinking principles in a manufacturing environment
14. Experience in project management
15. Strong understanding of LEAN principles and methodologies and implementing these
16. Knowledge of Six Sigma
17. Ability to develop focused team activities
18. Excellent communication skills
19. Very good organizational skills
20. Working knowledge of MS office
