Freelance Data BI Consultant – Power BI & DAX
Location: Brussels (Hybrid)

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Data BI Consultant with strong expertise in Power BI and DAX to support a long-term data analytics and reporting programme. You will work closely with business stakeholders and data teams to design, develop, and optimise high-quality dashboards and analytical solutions that drive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for business and management use
* Create and optimise complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and data models
* Translate business requirements into clear BI solutions and visualisations
* Improve performance and usability of existing Power BI reports
* Work with multiple data sources (SQL databases, data warehouses, APIs, Excel, etc.)
* Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance standards
* Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts
* Provide documentation and knowledge transfer where required
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven freelance experience as a Data BI / Power BI Consultant
* Expert-level Power BI development experience
* Strong DAX skills (complex measures, optimisation, performance tuning)
* Solid understanding of data modelling (star schema, relationships, best practices)
* Experience working with SQL and relational databases
* Strong analytical mindset and ability to work with business stakeholders
* Fluent English (French and/or Dutch is a strong plus)
* Comfortable working in a hybrid Brussels-based environment
Nice to Have
* Experience in large or complex enterprise environments
* Knowledge of Azure data services (e.g. Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory)
* Experience with Power BI Service, security (RLS), and deployment pipelines
* Background in finance, public sector, telecom, or industrial environments
